Launch events need to capture your audience from the moment they set foot into your venue
Launch events are among our favourite jobs to work on. We thrive on our client’s pride and excitement to bring new products, offerings and projects to the market. The launch of television programme Coke Studio was an exciting project for a number of reasons – we get to work with some of SA’s best loved artists, give a platform for up coming talent and of course any opportunity to work with the world’s biggest brand Coca-Cola is pretty darn incredible!
DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VENUE
When it came to choosing a venue for Season 2 of Coke Studio we we’re challenged to find a venue that was bold and elegant but could also double up as an intimate studio where artists could showcase their work for a small audience.
We settled on The Venue, Green Park in Sandton. Located on the top floor of the World Trade Centre, it boasts some of the best views in Johannesburg and has a space perfectly sized for an intimate gathering of 100 or so guests.
DON’T SKIMP ON TECHNICAL
The launch of Coke Studio Season 2 had a lineup of five headlining artists including one of South Africa’s biggest rappers AKA. When it comes to live performances if the technical isn’t on point, you’re in for a whole world of audio pain.
Our technical team is one of the best in the country and made sure that everything was set up on time and was technically perfect.
TIMINGS ARE CRUCIAL
No venue is absolutely perfect and one of the challenges we face at The Venue is that they only have one small service elevator servicing the entire building. This meant we need to have our ducks in a neat and well-timed row if we were going to get the venue ready on time. With all hands-on deck and strict protocol of who gets upstairs and when meant we got everything into the building on time and the show went on without a hitch.
