MOTHER'S DAY

One of our favourite times of year is around Mother’s Day. Giving back to the strong, brilliant women who raised us is a privilege and one we take great pride in helping others do. When the Woolworths Special Events team approached us to help run an instore Mother’s Day activation and throw a Mother’s Day event at Warwick Wine Estate in Stellenbosch we jumped at the opportunity!

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE JOURNEY

One of the key considerations for an event catering for a large amount of people is the journey guests will go on throughout the event. We spent a lot of time walking through exactly how the day unfold, where the potential bottlenecks in activities might arise and how we could diffuse this. On the day we carefully monitored all activity areas and ensured that eased any bottlenecks and made for happy, relaxed guests.

PICNIC FOR THE WIN

When catering for more than 200 people on a wine farm – a picnic is a no brainer. Not only does a picnic enable quick and easy prep – but it’s a great social way to eat. Each group of guests would get a picnic basket filled with goodies like cheese, crackers, gourmet spreads, preserves, salad jars and artisanal breads. They could eat indoors or sit outdoors on giant pillows looking over the Warwick Wine Estate dam. For dessert we transformed a rustic wooden table into a mound of chocolate, nut brittle, fudge and a host of delicious Woolworths exclusive treats.
